    • My first experiences listening to music may have been on cassettes (I really can't remember), but the earliest memories I have of listening to recorded music are of vinyl. We had a sweet GE Show 'n Tell record player that would also play these weird slide filmstrips that came with some story records. I listened to kids' records on that, but also remember combing through my parents' record collection to find gems like "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" and The 5th Dimension.

To this day, I collect records (I just got a David Bazan 7" in the mail today), even though I rarely listen to them. I have to think the Show 'n Tell has something to do with this.

Very interesting-the music that inspired me was from the Mitch Miller sing-A-long show, one women in particular, Leslie Ugums, I think that's how her last name is spelled, also Frank Sinatra-the tilte "when I was 21" very moving. Of course all this on Vinyl 331/2 and 45 RPM records. this was when i was a child-those other rock n roll groups came later.

That Show 'n Tell is amazing. So wish I'd had one of these in the 70s. We do listen to vinyl in our home, and I think if I could score one of these for the kids, they would actually use it.
