- Galatians (Paul's Epistle to the Galatians) brought me to God
-
For many years I ran from Christianity; one of my favorite retorts was "JESUS, SAVE ME FROM YOUR FOLLOWERS." How ironic is it, then, that when God finally did get through to me, it was through the text of Paul's letter to the church in Galatia... which, in my mind, is essentially Paul's version of "JESUS, SAVE ME FROM YOUR FOLLOWERS" in the early days of Christianity.
It was through this one single book, the 9th book of the New Testament, that I finally realized the truth of my salvation: once I have accepted my Savior in my heart, *nobody* can deny me. You cannot tell me that I am not saved b/c I drink. You cannot tell me that I am not saved b/c I smoke. You cannot tell me that I am not saved b/c I am a screamingly unapologetic left-wing liberal socialist. And you cannot tell me that I am not saved b/c God gave me a same-sex identity. My salvation is *mine* alone; *my* faith hath made me whole, and you cannot take that away from me. Jesus died for every single one of us. Sorry folks, you can't keep me from Heaven. That decision is up to God.
I learned this from the Book Of Galatians. Amen.
