The sound of canning lids popping
Nothing makes me long for childhood
But
The unmistakable sound of canning lids takes me back to the farm.
September and October and putting up all that food ya worked so hard growing all summer.
The lids pop down with a snap when ya take the jars out of the boiling bath.
Mmm mmm mmm opening jars of peas, beans, apples, pears, corn and picles in January, February, March , and April
