I am a city girl who likes having access to the country. I'll look at it, pet it, examine it, and then go home. After having lived in the country for 3 years, there is no way on God's green earth I will ever again live in a smelly town, surrounded by pick-up trucks and small-minded people. However, given the above choices of where I could live, I would have an awesome farmhouse in the city. The atmosphere wouldn't be much different then the "little fortress of solitude" that we have now. Its lived in, but not messy. We have books everywhere, games waiting for someone to play them, trivia and reference lit. always at the ready, comfortable couches, and somewhere, a kitten or two sleeping on a bed or chair. I don't want people who come into my house to be afraid that they'll break something or feel unwelcome. And, I will always follow my mothers line of thinking "I don't want my kids to grow up and remember that I spent more time cleaning then playing with them".
