"pansy" african violet

My dear departed Grandmother Tanner was known widely for her love of lillies (her name, after all, was Lillian) ... but when I think back on the summers I spent with her when I was a kid, I always remember waking up really early and going to the bathroom before breakfast. In her bathroom she always had these little pots of African Violets, and they would bloom with the most beautifully purple flowers.
