Would that be like:
My mother taking all 11 of us kids to Germany in 1947.
First from Spokane to New York by Northern Pacific.
Then staying in a hotel room on the 22nd floor in New York city.
Being restricted to the room {Mom had lost her purse, and it took a day to get her shit together} we amused ourselves by throwing water balloons down on pedestrians
Then on a liberty ship the “Dan Patch” to Bremerhaven.
3300 miles at 7 knots.
Took a long time.
Or
Would that be like the time I woke at 3:00 a.m. to see my first wife coming home from a date?
Or
Would that be like:
The folks putting us on a farm east of Spokane and Mom going off to college at Cheyney, Washington and Dad taking a job in L.A. Now we were twelve. My oldest sister {the one in charge} abdicating leaving oldest brother who could care less at the helm. We had all been assigned jobs such as weeding, milking, irrigating and doing the barn. Nothing left to do but throw a leg over the neighbor’s {Mr. Lloyd} horses and going of for a ride. Mr. Lloyd had great horses and just require us to give em oats and curry them when we returned, if we took em for a long ride. I guess this was the best!
