The Day I Turned 10 Years Old
In a military family, the day you turn 10 years old is a major milestone: that's the day you get your first ID Card. On base, the ID Card is like a golden ticket -- you can buy candy at the shopette, you can leave and re-enter base on your bicycle, etc., without your parents. Or, at least, that's how it was on Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in North Carolina and Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland when I was a kid.
The Day I Turned 30 Years Old
I hosted a little get-together at a beautiful park (Briones Regional Park) in the East Bay hills; it was a beautiful sunny day, there were good people, and my friend Dabney made her amazing chocolate chip tollhouse cookie swirl thing. And ... when we went back to my house, my friends had hired a dancer. A muscular, hot, blond dancer. Named JoJo. He was fine fine fine... and there is a videotape of the experience somewhere...

The sure sign of true friends! Cheers!
