- Japanese tourists buying luxury products at South Coast Plaza
-
I get dragged to the mall, too often, it seems to me. I tuck a book into the waistband of my pants. I am perfectly happy sitting cross-legged on the floor reading my book. I have a lot of reading to get through, so I appreciate having the time. I like internet shopping, because I get annoyed by retail-folk easily (not their fault). Really, window shopping gets on my nerves as well. Consumerism is one of the things that in antithetical to my dream American, based on the ideals of Jefferson and Thomas Paine. But why the heck should anyone care about what I think America should be? If I ran America, it would be full of frumpy grouches sitting cross-legged on the floor, reading books with high-lighters and scribbling notes in the margins. A nation of kooks.

Is there any high end retailer not represented here?
Don't tell my wife, but I like looking at the preening wealthy young female Japanese tourists, in their cute high-fashion outfits with impossibly short skirts. But I cannot risk getting caught, because I end up blushing and my wife knows what I have been doing, and I can descend into a world of trouble and pain and punches in the arm. So my nose stays in the book. Can't get in much trouble from reading. I get my kicks above the waistline, sunshine.

antithetical
Gonna have to find uses for it
Thank you...
