It is always darkest before it goes completely black. Every cloud has a silver lining hiding a thunderbolt to zap you in the tushie. And everything that looks like good news is really the set-up to a mule kick to the face.
Always find a way to re-double your anxiety, even in the face of insurmountable joy. You are never really alive unless you and running away futilely from the fears that haunt you.
See, isn't that much better! Now you can go cringing back to work without wasting any time on celebrations!
Seriously, I value relaxation over celebrations and parties. When something looks like great news, I am careful not to jinx it by making a big deal out of it. Just enjoy it quietly, with good friends and one or two good beers. A fine, tasty English brew.
