My friend and I met when we were 10 years old and are now 56. We have nothing in common but we are always interested in what each other is doing, thinking, or feeling. We call every week or so. She is a wonderful card-sender. She always puts a bunch of those little metallic confetti shapes in the envelope. I was going somewhere and had a card with me. Somehow it flipped over and open. I looked like Hansel and Gretel (sp?) with a trail of the shiny things following me.
My friend is dying of cancer. She never ever complains and she is so positive. You would think I wouldn't burden her with my relatively pathetic problems, but she seems to desperately want me to.
I am so blessed.
