The sooner you're angry and you start bitching about everything he did, the easier it is to move on and not miss him. It's when you're sad and reminiscing about all the cute shit he did that you never seem to get over it. Trust me, get angry, call him a douche bag, and start looking for all of his faults and it's easier to get through it.
