  • You can't sleep. What do you turn to in hopes of falling asleep or embracing your insomnia? See all answers
    • My Insomnia
    • Books behind the bed

For years I simply lived with the insomnia. I made the most of my awake hours. I tried to be productive around the house, or at the very least, I would try to learn something new. (And I watched a little TV).

But when my insomnia got the best of me, I would read. I took long hot soaks in the tub, took melatonin....sprayed my sheets with lavender...all the usual stuff. Eventually, I started working a more normal schedule and my insomnia is better under control. Now I sleep most nights....but I must admit - I miss my insomniac nights! I relish those middle of the night quiet hours. No phones, no people, no worries!
