    • My favorite place to hear music: Broken Spoke
    • Broken Spoke is a great place to hear singer/songwriter's perform. It is a smallish venue and allows some contact with the performers. This is a place that you can take your family...kids included.

Upon entering the building, you find yourself in a dining area. And let me just say, the food is wonderful! They have one of the best chicken fried steaks I have ever eaten. The menu is country faire...the kinds of food one would expect to find in Texas.

On one side of the dining area is a room with pool tables for those who would like to play a game. Beyond the dining room is a bar. It is set up as a divider between the dining area and the dance hall. Walk on past the bar and enter the dance hall!

Dancing is fun here! The wood floor is covered with salt for that slickness that country dancers count on. At the far end of the dance floor is a stage for the performers, and on either side is ample seating. The whole dance hall has a feeling of being in a barn. It is intimate, safe, and a throw back to the old dance halls of Texas.

People like Dale Watson, The Derailers, Gary P Nunn, Asleep at the Wheel, Wilie Nelson, The Geezinslaw Brothers, and many more can be found in this fabulous, family-friendly Texas dance hall.
