Grant and I had only been married for a few months and we had to buy a car. As much as I loved rolling in the Volvo wagon, fixing it at at least $700 a pop was quickly becoming annoying. So Grant and I, for the first time bought a brand new car. It was terrifying and very grown-up of us.
But then, my Honda blew it's transmission just a few months later and we were forced to buy yet another car. Two cars in one year. When we were sitting in the financing office signing for the second car, I kept waiting for my Dad to walk in and say, "Don't sign there! I have found you yet another free car!" Seriously. most of the cars I drove in high school were free. But my Dad did not come. In, fact I am sure he was sitting at home laughing and thinking, "Welcome to the world of being a grown-up."
