Christmas season 1993. Auntie Anne's Hand Rolled Soft Pretzels. I was a Junior in high school, itching to get out of the house. I began as a part time cashier, working on weekends, but being "driven to excel" (what? in a pretzel shop?) I was promoted to assistant manager and working full time within 8 months - the youngest management in that particular store's history. It was fun, slinging dough around, twisting it into precise sized pretzels. I kept that job for 2 years; walked out on the new owner because he was a prick and didn't take my word for it that the new girl he hired was stealing money (it took him 6 months to figure out that I was right).
