My first job as a college grad was proofreading forms for a life insurance company. I have pale memories of squinting a lot at very small type, hating fonts, feeling like I needed fresh air (typical cubeland complaint), and thinking that the forms, such as they were written, were too dense in their legalese to be comprehensible by any normal human. I worked there for about eight months. I have no idea what I made. But at the time I thought to myself that I was "on my way."
