• How I Treat A Headache
    • My remedy for a headache is solid testimony that I am justifying a very delicious addiction.

      Coffee.

Yes, you heard that right. I was never the type to take any type of medication for a headache and just used the power of sleep and the natural mechanisms of the human body to eradicate the pain. However, the process is slow and painful. I was advised to take certain food supplements and even drink lots of water, but the results manifested around the same time as my having done nothing at all.

Sometime last year, a relative of mine in the nursing industry said that headaches were caused by the expansion of the blood vessels, and the pulsating sensation often associated with a headache was that of the blood rushing in at a faster rate than normal. Caffeine, I learned, had properties that cause the constriction of blood vessels, alleviating the pain much quicker than water or simple rest. Of course, there is the possibility of getting caffeine-induced headaches, but thankfully I haven't encountered that.

Perhaps one day I'll divulge my personal secret in preventing those "feminine pains" during those wonderful few days out of the month.
