As a clarinettist, the ONLY way to get rid of hiccups is to stand tall and straight, then breathe in deeply, using your diaphragm to pull the air in. Once it's in, hold your breath but imagine that your diaphragm has a string attached to it that you can pull downwards. Pull that string, and pull the air in your trachea further down into your lungs. Stay rock still and hold that breath for as long as you can manage. Then release it slowly, with control. You will be cured.
