I keep a running list of short term reasons not to kill myself.

I just bought a new bottle of shampoo
I want to see how they finish House
I promised to watch my neighbors' dog when they go on vacation this summer
It's almost my birthday
I haven't received my tax refund yet
I've never had a Golden Star Fizz
I still haven't sent that package to Ethan

This is an emergency back up for when all other reasons to wake up tomorrow have failed. Sure, love and family and responsibilities are much more appropriate reasons not to kill myself, but if for any reason I lost all of those I like having a to-do list to get me by.
