Summer, the best time of year. Time to spend all day outside playing. I loved climbing trees to see how high I could get before the branched became too thin support me. Once there, I'd wrap my skinny arms around the trunk and tilt my head back as far as I could and watch the clouds go by. A lot of times I'd get so dizzy I'd be afraid I'd fall but that added to the excitement of being on top of the world.

At that moment it didn't matter that my big sister, Kit, and my cousin, Dee Dee, were two years older and much too big to have time for me. I had moved up in the world and no matter what they were doing I was the bravest girl on the block and having more fun than they could imagine.
