My first experience at the Gorge was seeing the Dave Matthews Band on one of their annual summer tours. The view is breathtaking--the whole experience of laying out on the hillside staring down at the Columbia River, listening to great music and then watching the stars after the sun goes down is amazing.

I saw many concerts at the Gorge during high school, and learned to appreciate getting a spot at the very top of the hill. This made for easy access to the bathrooms (port-o-potty's that got filled to the top at the end of the concert--EW!) and an quick escape near the end of the night. We sacrificed a few of the last songs in order to run to the car and beat the traffic trying to all leave on the one road out of there. Being at the top meant we couldn't see Dave up close, but we had probably the best view possible!
