Country music singer Johnny Cash was referred to as the Man In Black during his music career, and in recent instances, I have drawn those same references from various individuals. When I announced hockey games on the radio, standard dress code was to wear a suit to the arena. Myself, I preferred a black suit with a black shirt and an orange tie (being the BGSU announcer, I felt it important to wear something orange).

In recent months though, dressing up as turned into an all black affair. We're required to be business casual at work for the majority of the week, and at least one day a week, I make an appearance in black slacks, a black silk shirt and a black tie.

The kicker to all of this is that the shoes with the outfit are black and white plaid Chuck Taylor sneakers. If I'm wearing black for a full year, I'm wearing those constantly as well.
