    • As a preface to my answer, needles freak me the fuck out, so this is to be taken into account in any tattoo scenario considered.

For those of you who read my postings on my blog (http://inurbase.wordpress.com), you've surely seen the link on the right hand side of the page to raise money for To Write Love On Her Arms, a group with provides crisis and suicide prevention services. If the tattoo was for one week, I would get a tattoo that said "Love is the answer" on one of my forearms. The charity means a lot to me, and I hope to be able to raise some decent money for their cause. I'd consider getting the tattoo permanently, but I'm not totally sure.

Now, I do plan to get a tattoo one day, if for no other reason than to help get over my fear of needles. When I'm married and have kids (whenever that might be), I plan to get a tattoo with my kids names on it somewhere on my body. As to where at or what design, that's still up in the air. But that would be my perfect symbolism of permanence...family.

If it helps, most tattoo guns aren't needles; I can't really describe it otherwise. Needles bothered me too, but when I got my tattoos (both TWLOHA inspired, by the way! I love them as well) it really wasn't so bad because it looks nothing like a needle. :] I like the name idea too. The only problem with my tattoos is that I have to keep them hidden for when I teach.

Generally it's frowned upon for college administrators to have tattoos...but I'll be getting my lip pierced soon enough anyway, so that'll have to be hidden too
