Topic #53: What words do you hate? Certain words just rub you the wrong way, don't they? List the ones you can't stand to hear.
I hate the word groovy sounds like the grooves from a vinyl record. Just thinking about the raking of fingernails over these plastic grooves send irritating sensations on my fingernails and teeth. Arg!
I hate the word/s far/way out. It's almost out of this world, meaning beyond one's understanding. Maybe these hippies have had one too many psychedelic trips to know the difference between our reality and their illusions.
I hate the words `you know` when used in a normal conversation. The person assumes the listener(s) understand what is being said and the message is usually lost from incoherent babbling of a unintelligent person.
I hate the words `ummm` when used to give pause during a normal conversation. Either the speaker knows what to say next or is also left wondering if what is going to be said makes sense to the listener(s), who may not always understand or care how the material is being presented
