• My Weirdest Pet Peeve
    • It isn't really a pet peeve, but I notice that a lot of people like to use the word "I" when they should be using "me" . . . For example: They will say: It has been a good year for Bob and I . . . when they should say: It has been a good year for Bob and me. I tell my students to take the words "Bob and" out of the sentence to hear how it sounds. So it makes more sense to say . . . It has been a good year for me . . . than to say . . . it has been a good year for I. It would be correct to say Bob and I had a good year . . . so it is OK to use "I" at times, but people use it all of the time, thinking it sounds proper when it is not correct.
