My favorite summertime sound has all but faded away in the last 25 years... the sound of kids playing at dusk.
Kick-the-can, wiffle ball or riding their bikes through the neighborhood all seem to be faint memories.
A close second is also gone, hearing the baseball game on the radio from screen porches, diners and open apartment windows.
