I would immediately book tickets for my son and I so we could meet up in Vancouver and then travel north to Whitehorse, Yukon and Inuvik NT - but not until in early May. Then we would stay there until at least the end of July, because that's how long it would take to travel around in the area and reminisce
about the 9 years we spent there when my son was a child.

- Where Did you Spend the Night?
-
This happened so many years ago, that it won't matter.
After having worked through the spring in a resort in the Swedish mountains, my friend and I went to Norway to visit a work mate.
However, coming back to Narvik after a miserable ride on a ferry, we had missed the last train to Sweden. We counted our money and decided that we had enough for a sandwich and a beer in a pub - but not for a room for the night. After having spent our last money on sustenance (oh well!) we were standing on the curb when a police car drove by. On a whim, I waved at them and they stopped. We asked where we could find a safe place to sleep - and they told us to hop in.
We spent the night in lock-up, on plastic-covered matresses - giggling our heads off until an officer asked us over the inter-com to be quiet (we were disturbing other detainees...) We finally fell asleep and the following morning we were given breakfast before a policeman drove us to the train station.

- It Must Be Spring Soon!
-
Not even close!
Today, I needed to use my Canada Goose Parka when I went for our first morning walk. My dog was happy enough - I wasn't.
This afternoon, I still neeeded my big parka - because I hate being cold!
My spring to-do list?
Well, I will eventually put away my kick-sled,
I will wash and put away all winter clothing,
I will wash my windows
and
I will begin to believe that there is a life after the worst winter I can remember.

DGJ_4887 - Old Puddle Railway Bridge
As a young child (5ish) I started having a dream in which I was forced to crawl on my knees across a railway bridge over a fast-flowing river. To my knowledge I had never even been walking along the railway but I had walked across the tracks at a regular crossing. The dream recurred every now and then for years to come and I could still wake up in a total state of panic as a teenager.
The dream eventually stopped haunting me - but My Lord did I understand the terror felt by the boys in Stephen King's noveletta 'The Body' - and I could almost taste it in my mouth when I saw the movie.

- Snowpocalypse of the 70's
-
Snowstorms. Both in Sweden and in Canada. The one that comes to mind was in Winnipeg 1977. Instead of staying home, I struggled to get to work in the incresingly bad weather... I arrived at the hotel just as they closed down the entire city and then I didn't get out of there until some 36 hours later.
