      • My name is Christi Monique. I would like to switch it around and modify it a bit. Monica Christine is what I have come up with for a more grown up and sophisticated sounding name. I don't dislike my name, but Christi is synonymous with "airhead". No one questions a Monica :)

      • I moved to Rockford, Il. in Dec 95 from California when I was 22 years old. I had no idea the impact that move would have on me. I left behind family and friends that I loved and grew to miss tremendously! Once I discovered the internet I found lots of networking sites that enabled me to reestablish contact with most of the people that I have been dying to talk to again. Since our reunion, I seemed to have calmed down a lot. I guess I felt like I lost myself in a way when I left and then life just took off so fast. I became a mother and was in and out of a relationship with my chidrens father, but I never seemed to have anyone I could talk to. I made friends with people here in Rockford, but I never fully bonded with them the way I hoped to so I usually felt rather lonely.
        Today, I have to give it up for the internet. It really helped me in a way that was unexpected.

      • I would give it to my sister Kym. The way I'd do it is much like the final scene in Erin Brokovich. I would hand her a sealed envelope and string her along with some ridiculous explanation about how I wish I could do more for her and then slowly walk away so that I could hear her response when she opens it.

        Let me ask you something. If someone prays for patience, you think God gives them patience? Or does he give them the opportunity to be patient? If he prayed for courage, does God give him courage, or does he give him opportunities to be courageous? If someone prayed for the family to be closer, do you think God zaps them with warm fuzzy feelings, or does he give them opportunities to love each other?

        This is an excellent explanation of how God works as I understand it.
