    • First day of school
      • My first day at the secondary school was more confusing than exciting. I simply couldn't understand anything! I was busy satisfying my eyes with the beautiful scenery of the school environment and the huge number of students were continually being brought in as it was the reporting day. I was afraid to go supper with the huge numbers that were trooping into the dining hall whose location I didn't know at first. I wanted things to move at my own pace but it couldn't be so. I felt shy bathing in an open bathroom where we all watched each other's nakedness. I began acclamatizing myself to the environment and the various protocols. I was assigned to a senior, who was supposed to act as my senior brother albeit we were age mates. The seniors began punishing us to make themselves known to us. I will never forget this day!

    • Which one?
      • The sense of smell would have to go. I use the other four very often that I can't imagine going a second without them. As for the sense of smell, I do use it but not as often as I do with the rest. Sometimes it is lost completely and you won't even realize it. When you're struck by certain diseases, the sense of smell would completely be gone and you won't experience any changes in your lifestyle. After all, the eyes sometimes play that role perfectly. An example is when you see faeces and close your nose and mouth, though it would not smell. Or when someone flatulates and you hear the sound, you immediately close your mouth and nose though it may not be smelly.

    • Who is your favorite person?
      • My father, Godwin Akanse Atano, is the person I hold in high esteem. Not just because he is my father, but also because he is my role model. I sometimes wonder what the world would be like had I not come to meet this person in my life. He is very sober and gentle, kind to anyone he comes across, sees and talks about the good in others, is humble and generous, motivational, loving, caring, and very disciplined(emphasised).

    • TUO-ZAAFI(TZ), MY BEST BET
      • Tuo-zaafi with okro stew and fresh fish does the trick for me. Tuo-zaafi, popularly called TZ, with okro stew easily sends all sorts of childhood thoughts rushing into my head. I loved this food to the extent that sometimes I even craved for it. Still do, though not as I used to do then. TZ is prepared from grains such as maize or millet. The TZ is therefore, protein bound. Apart from the fact that it is very nutritious and fit for my cultural background where we use it in some cultural and religious activities, the okro makes swallowing easier no matter the size of a ball of tuo-zaafi in your hand. The okro is usually fresh and hence contains some vitamins. It also contains protein for body-building. When eating tuo-zaafi, I don't have to worry about indigestion or constipation as it is easily digestible. The okro also contains iron which helps prevent goitre(hyperthyroidism).
