      • In response to: "What was the comfort food you enjoyed most growing up?" Pizza for whatever reason has always been my comfort food. That's good an bad... when I'm upset, I eat LOTS of pizza which is definitely not healthy. BUT, when I'm content, I don't crave pizza at all.

      • Vacuum Cleaner

Right now, honestly, I think the most useless thing in my house is the vacuum cleaner. Seriously... I've never seen anything more useless. Not only does it NOT suck up the dog hair on the floor, but it seems to break constantly. NO JOKE! Last week, a part broke in it that I didn't even know existed. HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN? It's huge and heavy and a pain in the ass to move, it doesn't roll right on it's wheels, it doesn't work, and it always breaks. What's the point? I want to buy a brand new one, but "used vacuums are cheaper." Bah. Maybe that's the problem... maybe we aren't dropping enough cash to get a proper cleaning appliance. Maybe I should just ignore my mother's advice and save up for a brand new one... hmm...

        Anyone wanna buy a vacuum?

    • I'm in the Filmnut Hall of Fame
      • My claim to fame??? Hmmm... that's a good one... but I suppose I decided to answer this one because of the interview with Jeff Schubert that was done last night.

As many may know, I help out/watch an internet tv station known as thestream.tv. Back when I started watching, there were a whole slew of shows, one of which was called Merrillwood. For a while, it was the only show I watched, but then I started watching a show called Filmnut, with host Jeff Schubert. Filmnut is an interesting show, all about film making, so it has some pretty big name guests. One night, they had Cristine Rose (Angela Petrelli from "Heroes") and I was super excited, cuz I'm a fan of her work. So, I tuned in.

One of the things that sets thestream.tv apart from other stations is that all of the shows are live and interactive... so, you watch online and, if you have a question for the guest, you IM the network and if they can they ask it. It's pretty neat. So, I tune in for the Cristine Rose interview and I'm totally stoked, and as the show goes on, they start talking about past projects she's done that they can't remember the name of... so I jump onto my search engines and find out and start IMing the names and what not in for them. By the end of the show, if there was a question, Jeff just said "Bleu, get on that." It was pretty cool, and even Ms. Rose acknowledged me. :)

After a while, life kicked in and I had to take a break from the stream, but I've been slowly coming back and doing a few episodes here and there of the fan podcast, The Collective. Last night, the Collective interviewed Jeff, and the host asked me if I'd like to be a part of that. Of course, I was all about it. :P So, in the pre show, we were all talking to Jeff and I was like "HI! Bleu here!" and He was like, "Hey Bleu! What's new?" lol... as we talked and caught up or what not, he informed me that any time he has a question on Filmnut, or he needs a fact checked, he says "Bleu, get on that." Even when I'm not watching!!! :D

So... even though it's not FAMOUS famous, I'm basically Jeff's resident fact checker... which is pretty cool, considering he's trying to get his own show. :D So presently, that's what I'm famous for. :) It'll be a cool story to tell when I really make it big. ;)

    • I find Age Discrimination offensive
      • Age Discrimination
Seriously... I can't STAND it when people will tell me I don't know anything simply because of how old I am... and I don't like it when it's done to anyone else either.

Just because someone is older or younger, it doesn't mean they know less or more about any given topic. Sure, if you have an older gentleman who lived during the Great Depression vs. a present day teenager, then yes - the older chap probably knows more. However, take something like the current economic crisis... age has nothing to do with who knows more.

If a person does their research, then their opinion should be just as important as anyone else's, regardless of age. Most of the time, the older people who claim they know more because they're older are the ones who haven't done their research, and actually have no idea WHAT SO EVER when it comes to the topic at hand.

Nothing will get me more angry than if someone tells me I don't know what I'm talking about simply because I'm young. It's a good way to start an argument, in my book.
