      • Tell the people you love that you love them.
Life is short and you may not get the chance "next time".

        Be kind to others.
Because you should just be nice to people.

Treat people how you want to be treated.
Karma will kick you in the ass.

        Have fun.
I often take myself too seriously and forget to have fun.

    • Rudeness and ignorance should be a crime....
      • St. Marks Bookstore

** Talking on your cell phone while wanting to be helped by another person. DO NOT go up to a cashier/customer service person and expect to be helped while you are talking on your cell phone. HANG UP! Or at the very least put the person on hold, ask your question or pay for your purchase, then talk. We are people too....those of us behind the counter...if you need something from me...I need your undivided attention.
        It is just rude, folks.

        A few other issues:

*Not putting your books/magazines back where from where you chose them.

*Looking at a name tag hanging from a person's neck and asking them if they work here...really??

*Taking off your funky shoes and putting your funky feet ALL over the chairs in a public place...ewww..Really!!

*Holding your abdomen and looking distressed while asking "Where is the bathroom?"...we don't need the visual...we know what goes on in there.

Basically these are a few of the peeves of a lowly bookseller...the punishment should be immediate removal from the premises.

You are in a bookstore...not your house.

    • You learn something new every day
      • Only you can make yourself happy. I really should not wrap so much of my happiness in other people. It just leads to hurt and frustration.
That is not to be a negative...just that I have to be careful.

A steadfast friend is sure, dependable, reliable, constant, unwavering, staunch.
