If you got to start a charity, what would it be & why?

If I got to start a charity today, it would help people who can't get health insurance due to a pre-existing condition. Maybe start a clinic or hospital where major businesses could donate money and family or friends of the patients would volunteer. It would not be costly for the patient-I would seek grants and other ways of funding the charity. Why is this important/ There are people who aren't getting the health care that they need and maybe dying too soon or living with illnesses that might have been preventable. I once was one of the uninsured.

 1. I'd give at least 25 K to church-because God asks for at least 10 percent.
2. I'd give about 25 K to my family and friends-especially the ones in direst need-because charity begins at home.
3. The rest would be divided among 2 or so favorite local, national or international charities, ones that I've researched and know are honest and deserving(for example the Bubel Aiken Foundation and UNICEF), because it's the right thing to do. I'd love to be able to give it all to one charity or some to a lot of charities, but at least this way it would be evenly divided and you'd do the most good for the most people and organizations, without neglecting home and church.

What are your favorite foods for summer?

Hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill are nice, but I'm looking forward to some fresh summer fruit. Strawberries(uh oh, Clay Aiken is allergic to them, but that's okay-I can't eat his favorite Krispy Kreme donuts, because I have diabetes) are my favorite.

A flat bed pillow
My neck is so short that most bed pillows in a hotel are too big for me. So I carry a flatter one from home. I had a favorite, but it eventually wore out, LOL!

I went to Disney several times as a young girl because I have relatives near Orlando. One time I went and I twisted my ankle as I was walking around the park(that happened a lot when I was little), but felt bad that I couldn't enjoy my Disney experience. I survived and had better experiences there later.

I think the first time I realized I was an adult is when I was babysitting an infant out of town and I could not get the infant to stop crying. I tried everything-and I called home., but it didn't really help except to have a sympathetic ear. It was the first time I had to solve a problem without my parents stepping in to solve it. I was alone and scared, but I and the child survived.
