    • Not really a typical answer, I suppose.
      • Well, partly because I fell in love with the style, the music, the language, the costumes, the shooting style...everything. Plus I am a sucker for dangerous young men who aren't as evil as the things they do.

I also loved the concept, and the way I interpreted it, it just made sense to me. It made me smile. It's one of my all time favorite films. It's no hollywood public-pleaser, that's for sure. That's another reason I liked it.

Maybe part of it was just in the way I discovered and watched it. Finding it in a dusty, neglected corner of a half run-down old video store. Went home and watched it by myself, at night, just me and Alex DeLarge. I think that made it more personal for me.

I just love this film. I could have put others that are more moving, I suppose, but none of them is as personal for me as this one. I rarely get to find a really great movie, and then enjoy it all by myself first. Rarely.

I now own the book, and am meaning to read it.

    • Friend Numero Uno
      • Paul. I get along with him better than everyone. Our interests are the same in many places. He understands me, I think. And that is a very rare thing to find, for I am an entirely complex person and have frequently been told how hard I am to "figure out".
I can talk to him about literally anything without worry. I can't do that for anyone else. No one.

Plus, he is the only one who can talk me into doing something. I am a very, very, stubborn person. When I say no the first time, it will probably be the same no for eternity. Except with Paul.

He means more to me than he thinks he does.

(Psst, don't tell him I said any of this. :P)

    • My Thoughts on the Death Penalty
      • I did up until just recently.

I had always been a proponent of the "eye for an eye" mentality and that was my idea of justice. However, I am taking a class in Crime, Justice and Media that has shown me how easy it is for innocent people to get convicted for things they never did. I immediately changed my mind, for the thought of letting someone be put to death who may very well be innocent makes me feel horrible. It should not even be a possibility. I just cannot let that happen.
