A growing epidemic.
Sailors getting friendly and tattooed
Prompt by plinky.com: What's your favorite mistake?
My favorite mistake would have to be my tattoo. God, yes it's such an eighteen-and-free thing to do, but I don't regret it. Well, not all of it at least.
A black and red music note sits behind my ear. I got it done with my best friend before she moved away across the country. I wanted the center to be filled with the symbol of my favorite band, so their music would forever be playing in my ear. Only problem is, I got the wrong band. Oops.
I was in a phase of German Rock/Pop. Glitz and glamour and really great marketing strategies had me tearing up the message boards online where I gabbed with others just like me. I was convinced that I was going to tour the US with them. Completely convinced. Therefore, just to show everyone who doubted me, I got their symbol tattooed behind my ear.
Well fuck. Recently I've had a wonderful blast from the past with The Used. I found them about four or five years ago and fell in love with all of their songs. They moved me in a way other music never did. And now I want their music to forever play in my ear.
I don't think our generation of young adults shouldn't really worry about tattoos. It's a growing trend and will have to be accepted by formality at one time, along with stretched and gauged earlobes and nose piercings. Society will accept what trends it creates.
So, for the meantime, I say go on! Follow the Illustrated Movement and bare your soul on your skin! Hide Nothing!

- In defense of my vice: joint
-
I started smoking pot around this time last year. I wouldn't say I'm an addict, but I would describe it as a vice of mine. I guess I would quit because I don't like the idea of having to depend on any one thing, plus it's not too great to put copious amounts of it in your body. It stimulates my mind in a way, making simple things seem complex and intriguing. I can read faster when I am high, and therefore use it when doing English homework. It's a good way to relax at the end of the day, even if the people around you won't.

- The Last Time I Thanked Someone
-
The last time I thanked someone is hard to recall. Not because I do it less often than I should, but because I do it too much. I say thank you to everyone at least two times. Other encounters have caused me to say it over and over again! I'm kind of politely passive with people. However, when I say thank you, I mean it.
