Yup. 1c is a meanglessly small amount of money these days, since at least ten years ago. I tell cashiers to "keep the change" if there are pennies involved.

I hope it still exists - in Ann Arbor, Earthen Jar where you dish up for yourself how much of various Indian foods you like, and pay for it by the ounce. When I was short on cash, I still went there but took smaller portions. I wish many more lunchtime food suppliers would let you take the amount you want, and sell by weight.

A few days in a row of quiet time at home to work on a project is so precious and rare, that's what I almost always do during any "holiday". Maybe visit someone if they have food and not too many screaming kids, and it's doesn't take all day.
