Forget the cliche superhero name. I would have psychic powers (think Akira, without the whole self-destruction thing Tetsuo did to himself) bec…

- Spain? Argentina? Hmmm...

I had to choose one, so I picked Barcelona over Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Barcelona: more than a city. It's a beacon of the Catalan people, the people who stood up to the fascist "Generalissimo" Franco during the military junta of the mid-20th century. Stunning, beautiful city with marvelous architecture. And, certainly not least: FC Barcelona, mes que un club. However, considering money is no object here, I would have a place in the district of Buenos Aires known as La Boca. It's a very rich cultural center of Argentina populated by mostly lower-class citizens, and it is a haven for artists. Brightly colored and full of history. That's how I like my cities. And, yes, it must have the requisite football club which represents, essentially, the beating heart of the people who live there. Club Atletico Boca Juniors in this case.

This one was particularly difficult because there are many people I admire for different reasons or traits. But then there would be far too many entries and it would cheapen the idea of admiring someone. So I have to go with the few people who have genuinely impacted me on a personal basis; top-drawer quality over quantity.
My mother
She is the strongest, most compassionate individual I could ever meet. I feel blessed to be her son, because whenever I falter or feel like giving up on life, her love and support is a major factor for keeping me going. She is ambitious and driven, but in a sense that is unconventional these days: she always think of others before herself. She tries so hard every day to be the kindest support system for me, my family, and for other people. I would be fortunate to be half as selfless.
My sister
My sister, a little less than four years my junior, is a spark of joy in my life. She is effervescent and independent, and she never deludes herself into letting other people bring her down. Smart, funny, kind and selfless, I feel privileged to call her a close friend as well as a sibling.
Eric Cantona
My favorite soccer player of all time. Okay, given the introduction, this would seem completely out of place. But truly, this man, his passion, and the way he conducted himself during his footballing career and still to this day merits the admiration. Sublime ability, insatiable drive to practice and improve, a persona to marvel at, honest to a fault, simply legendary in every sense of the word. He never compromises himself for anybody or loses sight of what is important in life. He inspires me to be the best me that I can be, regardless of what other people might think.

To be perfectly honest, I wear whatever seems to look most normal when I want to impress. For me, the motivation is not so much to impress but to try and fit in. It is no surprise that this likely achieves the opposite of being noticed, because I end up looking like most other people around me.
I find that I am far more flamboyant in what I wear when I feel more confident in myself (and not just in my self-image). Flamboyance for me is wearing brightly colored shirts, hoodies, jackets, shoes, etc., (not so much pants, but why not? I mean, some neon-colored pants would actually be pretty sick, now that I think about it.) that contain some kind of abstract, radical, or outlandish design.
I am also very fond of my Ray-Ban mirrored lens aviator sunglasses, as well as my Kanye West "Stronger"-type shutter shades. I wear these when I feel most confident in myself. And to anyone who thinks, "Oh, you wear those Kanye West sunglasses, you're a tool," I say this: What's the difference between wearing these and wearing something like a specific clothing label (Abercrombie, Aeropostale, American Eagle, Hollister, whatever), a particular brand of sneakers, or anything else that's a part of pop culture? I don't wear them to be a consumerist tool. I wear them because I really like the way they look, and besides, the viewpoint from behind them is different (even interesting).
Anyway, for me personally, the crazier and more colorful, the better.
