a good time to go is May or Oct--the drive on 101 is beautiful, and Paso is still pretty laid back and tastings are still reasonable...tons of wineries and beauty as you go...cannot do them all in a weekend! get a map and start tasting, then go down highway 46 to the coast...lovely
