    • How do you get news these days?
      • I'm not a big fan of the news. In spite of that, I try to keep myself abreast with what's going on with the world. I mean... I wouldn't want to wake up to World War Three and I'm the last person in the whole wide world to know. So whether I am interested or not, I try to take a few seconds each day to read or listen to the news.

These days, I get the news in varied ways such as randomly checking an online news website or turning on the tube and switching it to the news channel, or listening to it in a cab if the driver happens to be tuned in to an AM radio station talking about the news or if the FM DJ's happen to be discussing the day's headlines.

But the most common medium? Word of mouth -- which includes friends posting their opinions on the latest controversial topics at social media sites and coffee conversations with my closest opinionated friends (or not exactly opinionated but keep themselves updated with what's going on).

    • On Sneezing
      • Originally, it was an accepted belief that whenever someone sneezes, the devil or an evil spirit was trying to possess a man or woman. The act of sneezing sort of dispersed the devil or evil spirit.

I remember my eldest sister telling me this when we were kids. And as kids, we usually believe everything we're told without question or doubt especially if it's from someone we look up to. But I do recall reading it from somewhere as well. And so after typing those two sentences, I wanted to find out if my sister managed to pull one over me and googled up sneezing and came upon this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bless_you

So there you have it. I'm sure the net is loaded with reasons on how "Bless you" came about ;)

But WHY WE STILL say "Bless you," I suppose it's simply become out of habit.

      • 1. Two letters: J and F. The name is enough. I will never forget all I've learned from The JF.
        2. Mat = Two words: Insightful and Inspiring.
        3. The OO isn't THE OO for nothing. She's Everything.
        4. Don't ever EVER judge. Alex is not anything close to what you'd think.
