    • Books Versus Their Movie Versions
      • big read: the joy luck club

YES! I would definitely say the that the "Joy Luck Club" movie was better than the book. A lot of the body language and unspoken feelings could not be seen through just the reading of the novel without having watched the movie. I wanted to read the book after I watched the movie and found I understood what was going on a lot better in story because I had watched the film.

    • My Favorite Summer Sound
      • Summer, Summer, Summertime... Time to Sit Back and Unwind.

Timken Roller Bearing Co., calendar, September 1950, teacher at desk

The lack of sound when the alarm doesn't go off in the morning.
The sound of tv at 3am cause I got no place to be tomorrow!
The sound of my husband asking me, "So you stayed in your pajamas all day? Nice." with complete and utter disdain.
The sound of my paycheck still coming in because I'm a teacher and I get summers off, b*tches!!!

    • My Favorite Form of Exercise
      • Koko Crater

I like exercise that has a goal in mind. I like to climb Koko Head Trail to get to the top and get back down again. I like dance classes (ballet, jazz) to get to learn the routine and a move better. I like Zumba because the music is lively and the instructors are fun. I like to swim to get accross the pool and see how long I can hold my breath.

I don't like repetative motions just fill in the time and space. I don't like counting the number of times I can squat, sit up, push up, lift a weight, lunge, lift my leg, jump, or any of that crap.

When I have an end goal, it doesn't feel like exercise. I want to push myself. I want to work harder, do better and improve. It's something I love, so it's something I won't miss.
