There's a lot of books that bring much nostalgia but none so much as the classic Tale of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter.

I had the collections of Beatrix Potter by my bed every night growing up. Fully illustrated in all its original glory. The Tale of Peter Rabbit was Potter at her best. Light enough for kids but with very dark undertones that you pick up on when you get older. Teaches a lesson to be sure, but in a less slap-in-the-face approach. I loved finding new things every time I read it.

Potter's style of writing was pleasing in a way only old writing can be. Anytime I see or hear of this book all the memories of being read to before bed and reading by flashlight come flooding back bringing with them even more of my childhood books I'd long since forgotten.
