    • What Was I Thinking?
      • This is not an xray of my elbow

        Elbow strife II

In April 2004, I jumped out of a tree and broke my left elbow. That was one of those "What was I thinking moments." Only now, can I agree (half heartedly)that a woman my age, (38 at the time) should NOT have been jumping out of a pine tree at dusk. Nor should she have climbed the tree in the first place!
(It was quite a trip though!)
Would I do it again? Depends on what's in the tree.

(Disclaimer: The above xray is not mine.)

    • 5 Foods I'd Hate to Live Without
      • Does chocolate count as a "food"?

        Chocolate

If chocolate counts as a food, that would be my number one!
Number 2 would have to be chocolate chip cookies. That's cruel and unusual punishment!
Third on my list is steak. I like my meat! (Well done, please.)
Potatoes are on my list also; baked, fried, French, boiled, chips, any kind of potato.
Yogurt ends my list of five. It's one of my few healthy choices.

After looking at this list, I think it's time for some changes.

    • Favorite Coffee Shop
      • Why have coffee when you can have mocha!

        Coffee

Coffee? The Sweet Boutique in downtown Bay City, MI, offers more than mere coffee. Just walking into the store, one is pleasantly assualted by the aroma of pure chocolate! Chocolate covered anything - potato chips, pretzels, designer truffles not to mention Black forest cake, colorful chocolate Angry Bird birds, (not real birds, of course. The owner is PETA friendly.) If it can be covered in chocolate, you can find it at the Sweet Boutique. My blood sugar drops at least 10 points from the smell alone.
Although one can get a cup of coffee at The Sweet Boutique, the mochas are on my weakness. On a good day I'll get a small mocha with whip cream. On a stressful day, I order a tall with 3 shots of espresso. My mouth waters at the anticipation! Rob can tailor a mocha, lattee, frappe or any other "fufu" coffee like any great barista.

Oh, and during the Halloween season, one can buy chocolate covered scorpions, meal worms, zits and eyeballs. (Seriously, check it out http://www.mlive.com/news/bay-city/index.ssf/2011/10/bay_citys_sweet_boutique_sells.html )

    • Things I'll Never Understand
      • The ideas are endless

        Pi pie

        1. Rudeness. What does rudeness accomplish??
        2. Pi=MC squared. Who makes up this stuff???
        3. Why dogs love people even though we ignore, neglect and/or mistreat them.

        I could go on .....

    • Kick butt honesty
      • Honesty and accountability are my two most valued qualities in a friend.
My best friend, Shelley, and I agree to disagree on things like Unions. I can ask her anything and trust her to tell me the trurth, even if something I don't want to hear. I rely on her to keep me grounded when I climb too high (pedastals can be dangerous!) and cheer me up when I need it and not sympathy. She lifts me up when I sink too low and tactfully (not really!) tells me to suck it up when the occasion calls for it.
I hope I do the same for her.

        Cheers to you, Shel!
