- What I'm Avoiding
-
I'm avoiding society.
Society is a psychological prison in which a person is born into. No one has the right to choose. It does not forgive and it does not know what compassion is. The worst part is that it’s unaware of its malevolent behavior and its tight clutching sharp claws. Society is an invisible vessel which has a certain shape - a shape that does not change according to its contents.
A person either has to lead a double life, cast himself away, or accept his fate and be part of the society which restricts thought, imagination, and creativity. That is the only way to remain in a society and not be shunned. And yet here we are wondering why young people at school are in cliques and refuse to accept one another as who they are. The irony is baffling.
Everybody preaches about wanting to be themselves, wanting to be original, wanting to be exclusive and yet we all live in a close-knit society. Society will destroy all of that and mechanize everyone. Those who cannot force themselves to be who they’re not meant to be may rebel and exclude themselves from society. Those who followed without question, lose their identity and passion in life. The irony is still baffling.
And then there are those who lead a double life. Society has not given them any options. It will always be an ultimatum. The only way to remain in the society and pursue their passion in life at the same time is to be two different people without alarming either side. The world becomes a stage and they will put on a play to become stereotypes - successful stereotypes of their diverse undertakings. It seems like this is the perfect solution but unfortunately it’s not. In doing so, they will lose their grip on what’s right and wrong, what’s ethical and unethical. There will be conflict. That’s when they will feel like their soul has disintegrated into a pile of meaningless pieces of life.
Society has bestowed upon us a sad and ironic fate but it’s the truth. Unfortunately, this truth will not set you free.

- Where I Live Is More Important Than What I Do For A Living
-
The first time I saw this Plinky prompt I was torn between the two options but when I think about it again, I knew it's a fairly easy question to be answered because the answer has always been with me ever since I was a kid.
My childhood was blessed with an abundance of imaginations far greater than the ones I have today. Living in a small suburb didn't stop me from imagining that I'm actually living in a house surrounded by a beautiful garden, in some other country where the beach and the city are just a walking distance away. The natural light that comes into the house had always played an important role in strengthening the fantasy I had about living in a beautiful make-belief place.
I love it when the sun's rays shined through a huge tree in the front yard after it had rained. The wet grass seemed like it was adorned with diamonds when the sun's rays hit it. I would usually squat and then gaze at the grass, admiring what I see. The colors of the leaves and flowers in the yard seemed more vibrant than before it had rained. The setting definitely made me feel happier and more alive at that moment. It was so bright yet so serene.
Moreover, my room has always been a sanctuary for me. It's an extension of my identity, a place where I could unwind and be inspired. I do get bored and fatalistic very easily though if I don't redecorate my room every month or so even if it means just rearranging the stuff that I have. Something must change so that I could always be inspired. Everything must also be in order so that I could go about doing my daily routines without being interrupted.
I always knew that I feed on the energy of my surroundings to keep myself inspired and motivated. No inspiration means no life. So, of course I think where I live is more important than what I do for a living because inspirations to me are like a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. That is if it's even attainable. It's a rarity and I can't put a price on it.
As for what I do for a living, it's just work. It's never guaranteed anyway and it will always change. It won't be there when I come home and needed a sanctuary. It's just what I do for a living and not what I live to do.

- My Dream House
-
This might sound intimidating... but relax. It's just a dream house... we all dream, don't we?
I love the beach... the sand.. and the sun.. but I also love technology and the environment. I can't live without technology. So, my dream house would be a house by the beach, built with green technology, fully equipped with high-tech but eco-friendly household appliances, and an interior design with smart space solutions. I can't imagine juggling work, housework, and kids too in the future without having a user-friendly house to live in. And I'd also love to have a work room / play room to cultivate creativity in the family.

- My Favorite Quote of All Time
-
"I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together." - Marilyn Monroe
This is my favorite quote so far. I think Marilyn Monroe spoke from experience when she came up with this. It's brilliant and I could totally relate to it. It's the truest truth.
1. "I believe that everything happens for a reason" - This is true. Everything that we've done and will be doing, will affect all the other events in our life. Even the smallest of events could snowball into something huge and might change the course of history. I believe that God has plans for everyone. Sure, we could make our own plans but He will decide in the end and it's our duty to accept the fate that He had written for us and learn from it.
2. "People change so that you can learn to let go." - Imagine that you're in a relationship and suddenly the person you love changed into someone that you don't know anymore. A stranger. You've been trying to cope but finally you give in. You let go. It's hard to swallow at first but in the end you've finally learned something. You've learned to let go and if you're meant for each other, that person will come back to you and your relationship will grow stronger because absence makes the heart grows fonder.
3. "Things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right." - Everybody makes mistakes. Sometimes we're lucky that there are people that would advise us before we make mistakes but often times we disregard them. Finally, when something went wrong, only then we will learn to appreciate it when it was right before and wished that we hadn't done the mistake in the first place.
4. "You believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself." - Not everyone in this world are as trustworthy as we think they are. The world is full of hypocrites. Sometimes, we can't even trust ourselves too. And whether we like it or not, we'll easily believe lies that are thrown at us and when we realize that they're all lies, we will learn to be more cautious and trust no one but ourselves for our own sake. In this world, nothing is a guaranteed anyway. Everybody has to be prepared for the worst.
5. "Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together." - Your life is perfect. Everything is great. Never been better. But suddenly it falls apart due to some unforeseen circumstances. However, every dark cloud has a silver lining. Things in your life that were good before turned out to be better after the storm. New and better opportunities rises. New discoveries were made that you knew if you had them back then, you'd be happy enough. So, turning over a new leaf might just be what you needed all this while.

- How I Feel About Swear Words, OMFG!
-
Hmm... interesting Plinky prompt. "Handle with discrete". Shhh~!
I know some people cuss like it's their mother-tongue. LOL XD. It's not really nice to hear when swear words form sentences actually. Especially to people who are not used to hearing it. I could only take in a few at a time myself without having the weird and awkward feeling right after.
In my case, only extreme situations force me to swear. Sometimes it's just reflex. I can't help it. But I'm definitely not a person who goes out hunting for swear words to fill up my vocab list. So, I think I stand somewhere in the middle when it comes to how I feel about swear words. But if possible, I'd like to keep it to a minimum and eliminate them from my vocab list once and for all. I think it's just unprofessional to utilize them in my writings even if I'm just a common casual blogger.
