        Escargot by far!

I was unsure if I would like it, but once I tried it, I loved it!

Good thing it was free, otherwise I wouldn't have taken the risk.

    • Love Confessions in the Laundry Room
      • I saw this prompt a few days ago, and honestly couldn't think of anyone I thought was the weirdest person I've ever met... until last night.

        Laundromat, Chicago

The weirdest person I ever met probably wasn't actually weird. It was more like the situation that we met was just so uncomfortable for me in the end that I have no other choice but to deem it the most bizarre encounter.

Last night, I met a guy in the laundry room of the residence hall where I live. This hall is designated for international students, so anyone you meet is likely to be from a different country (I'm currently living in South Korea). I never found out where he was from... I'm thinking either France, or a country that has a high population of French speakers- his accent lent to it. Anyway, he started with the small talk: What's your name, where are you from, what are you studying. The usual things. Then I realized that this guy really wants to talk. And he just kept TALKING. It was a fairly good conversation. He asked me about problems in the US, politics, favorite travel destinations, and gave me his opinion on certain things. His English was a little rough, and he tended to repeat himself a lot, so after a while I was getting tired and impatient. After all, it was after midnight.

I really couldn't break myself away from the conversation for a few reasons- he never let me get a word in edgewise, and I was somewhat fascinated with him and our random meeting. But that would change soon enough...

It was towards the end of the conversation... around 3 AM, when I started to get creeped out. He started to sound like a therapist, giving me advice on how to live my life in a more stress-free way. He said many times that the reason people are unhappy is because they don't let others help them with their problems. This went on for a lonnnggg time. I felt like I needed to pay a fee afterwards!

Then... he professed his love for me. In a weird stalker-ish way. "Please. Do not go far from me. You will make me sad. I do not think you wish to make me sad. Please. Do not refuse my love. I realize now that fate has brought us together, and if you refuse to be near me, I will not be able to study. I will become sick...." And I was completely at a loss for what to do.

I made up some half-hearted excuses (I'm a terrible liar) and gathered up my laundry and left... only to hear him singing something for me as I hurried away.

I really.... REALLY hope I don't run into him again. And hopefully he won't recognize me, considering I was wearing my pajamas, and my hair and makeup wasn't done!

    • Please get Fly Away out of my head
      • I have a supreme dislike of mainstream radio music that is generally crap. So here are 2 songs, and 1 artist (all of his music sucks), that I just can't stand.

        Fly Away by Lenny Kravitz

I hate Lenny Kravitz. I mean, I don't know him personally or anything, so I might be way off base, but he just bugs me. I can't stand his mediocre, mainstream, cookie-cutter, pop/rock crap. It's not just this song. It's alllllll of his songs.

        Airplanes by B.O.B.

I love Paramore and Haley Williams. But this song is just crappy. "Can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars? I could really use a wish right now... wish right now... BLAH BLAH BLAH" Then everyone thought they would be all deep, and cool by posting it as their status. It's a stupid song. Get over it.

I Gotta Feeling by Black Eyed Peas

This is one of those songs that was just ruined by the complete and reckless abandon of use in movies, on the radio, at parties.... etc. I thought it was catchy at first, but then it just wouldn't go away. So please... GO AWAY!!

    • Music Speaks to Me...
      • Picking only 3 was difficult, but these I am definitely guilty of having on repeat for days at a time... and haven't gotten sick of them yet!

Here, Here and Here by Meg & Dia

The lyrics relate so perfectly to my life. It always makes me feel stronger. Especially since I'm away from my friends and family for long periods of time, I need something to remind me of my goals and that everything will work out.

        Kenotia by Until This Day

This song is like the ultimate love rock song... and I'm a hopeless romantic.

        Savannah by Relient K

I LOVE Relient K. And this is my absolute favorite song by them. So beautiful and calming. Makes me think of vintage photographs of palm trees, beaches and road-tripping in the summer.
