        War Remains.

Yes, not just because I wrote it but because of what the book is about. There are nearly 8,000 service members still listed as missing in action from the Korean War, this so-called "forgotten war" but it has never been a forgotten war for the families still waiting for their loved ones to come home.

I tell people who have bought my book to keep a box of Kleenex close at hand when they get to the last part of the novel.

Even though I wrote it, I am still brought to tears when I get to that part.

    • My Greatest Accomplishment of 2010
      • This was a tough one to call; it was a toss up between building a house in Laos and publishing my first novel. Both were major, life-defining accomplishments.

Publishing my first novel, War Remains--a novel about the Korean War.

    • My Favorite Quote of All Time
      • That's an easy one: "The unexamined life is not worth living."

        Why?

That is how I have lived every day of my life for the past 30 years. I'm a writer and a storyteller and to write and tell a good story, one has to look at life. I know that is an obvious answer, but it is so true. It is not just looking at life as things happen around you; instead it is taking the time to understand life as much as you can. In my case, it is the slice of life I offer with every story that I write.

      • Wait a minute, I thought this was about Tubbs and Crockett and Miami Vice. Oops!
