Pricky (meaning Sathya Prakash of my class) was one of my room-mates in my first year undergraduation in the hostel. One day he spelled out this word 'Rampy' for me. Though I agree, my own name is enough to identify me, there were some who wanted to identify me by the names which they can remember :P Started by Pricky 8 yrs back, now it is the only name (excuse a hyperbole!) by which people know me all over the world :)

Later on, anyone's name having 'prasad' as a trailing suffix got successfully replaced with 'py'. Few examples: Omprasad - Ompy, Guruprasad - G-py, etc.

Thanks to this question at Plinker, learnt a new word called: Moniker. It means the same - nickname
