- In response to: "If you were in a movie right now, what music would be playing?" Probably some techno... maybe rock... possibly the same song that was in the background when Matthew "Matt" Farrel from Live Free or Die Hard was "testing" a security program.

- Technology's Impact on Families
-
If utilized properly technology can bring families together. With everyone and their dog having a Facebook account now one could utilize it to create a chore list and schedule that the immediate family (mother, father, son, daughter) have to follow. No more of this "Oh, I forgot to look at the calendar before I left" excuse. It is synced online and chances are your kid already figured out where the Wi-Fi hotspots are with their laptop/iPod touch.
Even through just e-mail you can set up a schedule that everyone can follow online. By inviting or setting up a reminder for an event you can have an e-mail sent out to your kids to remind them of their day's chores, when dinner is, etc. Your kid doesn't have a smart phone you say? Well lets say they have Verizon wireless. just type the phone number (zip code included) and add @vtext.com; other phone providers have a feature like this too. So Timmy of 5551231234@vtext.com cannot miss it and will receive the message as a text.
If utilized correctly, technology can eliminate any excuse or lie (God forbid) a kid can come up with. Lets say you asked your kid how was school and he/she said it was fine, but boring. You check their Twitter or Facebook wall and realize that they posted from the mall during math class. Well isn't that an interesting concept?
Though there will always be those who will abuse the technology, or those who let technology break their family apart it isn't really technology to blame. Technology exists and has existed for some time. Its not a question of what it can do to help or tear your family but a question of how YOU can use it to help you raise a family.

- The No-Fail Way to Make Me Roll My Eyes
-
Stupid people and dumb comments and statements. Its not even rolling my eyes... it is beyond that... I face-palm all the time. For example, my dad has this friend and they play Tiger Woods Golf all the time on the Wii. When this friend is winning, he loves the game. But when he messes up he always says "this game is not realistic, in reality..." and he continues to explain him self .... duh... it's a program. The rules of the game are different when you play a Golf program versus real Golf. In real golf you cannot decide to spin the ball AFTER it has left the ground to assist your hole in one... like in the game (Wii Sports Resort for the win on realism).
I also face palm when people talk to their dogs... beyond "want a treat?" When people use complex sentences such as "You shouldn't beg, this food isn't for you so if you would be so kind as too..." ... dogs respond to tone, motion, and stimuli, not sentences. A dog will steal a biscuit and feel good about it because there is no concept of theft in a dog's mind, plus now they have a biscuit. Like wise a dog will constantly beg for food... if you constantly give it your food. Don't even get me started on dog clothes.

- NYC Knows Pizza Pie
-
New York City always has the best pizza ever! I cannot really suggest one place since I have yet to go to NYC on the mission of pizza grading, but it is all good so far from what I have eaten.
It is so unique to the rest of the country's pizza. But this is because the rest of us have been taken control over by corporate pizza. Little Caesars, Pizza Hut, Domino's, Papa Johns, Papa Murphy's, Round Table, and even the smaller pizza places are all centered around what the corporation's idea of pizza is.
But in NYC, there are truly privately owned pizza places. Where people are able to create their own style of pizza at any size! The shackles of what everybody "wants" in marketing eyes is broken. It is not about what the public "wants" or what makes the pizza look more "appetizing", it's about what tastes good.
Just as a forewarning, if you are ever in NYC and get a pizza, give it a little bit to cool off. My first pepperoni pizza burned my mouth because the oil was so hot and I didn't even realize it until later that day. I couldn't feel how hot the pepperoni actually was. So if it feels hot, let it cool for a couple of seconds.
Bon appetit!

- What I Like Most About My Studies
-
What I love about my studies (computers and MIT) is how everything just clicks. Like a large, but not complicated, puzzle the slightest difference or error can cause everything to work differently or not at all. But once you have the right piece in the right place, just one little error in one little line of code, it all works out.
Working on MIT (Multimedia Interactive Technology) things, such as Web Design, feels like another art form. That my canvas can be data, code, script, etc. and my canvas can be the internet itself.
Another thing that I love about my studies is the sound and feel of the keyboard. When I was little, my Mother would bring me to work with her during summer breaks. She was a book keeper for Sun Gold in Boise, ID and she did phone sales on the side. Always clacking away on her keyboard, I enjoyed the noise so much that I use to play type on my own keyboard (which was not plugged into anything). Now that I can type I enjoy hearing the noise and the feeling of hitting keys to the point where these two things are what help me make up my mind about purchasing a new keyboard.
I guess, in a way, I get addicted to the instant gratification of coding as well as the noise and feel of typing. I just love it all.

- My Life, Ten Years From Now
-
Ten years from now I hope I have graduated college or, in the very least, I am still enrolled. I really hope that I have my own place in Seattle, Washington, Boise, Idaho, or those ideal neighborhoods you always see in movies and on television (Even Stevens, The Shaggy Dog, Fun With Dick and Jane, etc.). Sometimes I think of moving to Silicone Valley just for the geek of it.
I would definitely hope that my occupation is in the world of computers. Either fixing them, setting up networks, or as a graphic/web designer. My little "office" would have four walls of whiteboards to better my blue prints and ideas for web sites. These whiteboards would also help when storyboarding an Adobe Flash animation. My desk, and computer, would be located in the middle of the room on a lazy-Susan that spins via electric motor for easier access and reference to whatever wall I need to face to further my project. One of the white boards would roll to reveal a storage area where there will be a LOT of office supplies.
That is the least I would hope for, for ten years from now.
