- My Thoughts on the Death Penalty
-
I think it's very easy for those not involved to condemn the death penalty. So if it happened to you, what would you do. You've just been informed that somebody killed somebody dear to you, your wife, your daughter? My first reaction would be to kill the bastard who did this. When I've cooled down a bit and look at it from another perspective would it no be better to look up the bastard and throw away the key? Let him suffer! The problem is he or she would not suffer watching TV, reading books, receive visitors, having sex and probably be out in a couple of years as they need the space for another prisoner. And once he or she is out you never know, they might kill again, perhaps even you as they've read the comments from you when they were imprisoned. You would never feel safe again.
Another point. Even if they catch the murderer on the scene his lawyer would plead not guilty, go through a lengthy procedure which cost 100s of 1000s and perhaps, with the right arguments from the lawyer he might get off without any penalty.
There is never any justice for the deceased and his family. They are the ones that suffer for the rest of their lifes and that is one of the reasons why I think the death penalty should apply more often and without any further delays.

- TV, it's great !
-
It's hypnotizing !
I watch TV especially documentaries with a passion. There is so much to learn and register and sometimes I wonder where it all goes. If my wife ask me next morning after I've been up to well after midnight, "what did you watch last night Hans?" and....I've forgotten. But a week later, if somebody asks me, I can recall it perfectly clear.
So, TV to me is an endless source of entertainment and information and can keep me up all night if needed.

- Pick-me-up food !

Project 366 2008, - March 2, 2008 ~ McDonald's ~ 1955 Chevrolet in front window ~
There's nothing better when I'm pissed off with work, eating at home, tired and listless then to go to McDonalds, order a happy meal with 3 nuggets, chips and a coke and read the daily newspaper.

- Rolling my eyes - you bet !
-
There's only one and only one reason why I would roll my eyes. Imagine, it's Sunday morning and you've just opened the newspaper which shows you the result of last night Lotto draw. You need 6 numbers correct. What's that? One, two, three, four, five and six! I don't believe it! I've got all 6 numbers correct!! I must look again my I have problems, my eyes are rolling, I can't believe what I'm seeing!
Quickly, quickly what is the first prize money worth this week, How many millions? My eyes rolls again. There were 40 winners this week and my share is 50000 ! OK, I have to be happy with that! That's fate for you. Last week there was one winner who got the lot, 10M.

- My Favorite Quote of All Time
-
I am standing on the threshold about to enter a room. It is a complicated business. In the first place I must shove against an atmosphere pressing with a force of fourteen pounds on every square inch of my body. I must make sure of landing on a plank travelling at twenty miles a second round the sun - a fraction of a second too early or too late, the plank would be miles away. I must do this whilst hanging from a round planet head outward into space, and with a wind of aether blowing at no one knows how many miles a second through every interstice of my body.- Sir T Eddington
It never cease to amaze me that I'm still around after reading the above quote.
