At around fifteen, I think. By then you know they won't irrationally spend all their credit/break the contract by trying to keep in touch with the numerous friends they make in high school. Kids will try to be popular, so a phone will most likely be abused.

I didn't have a proper phone until 16, and by then I knew better than to simply text like crazy. It worked.

    • The best decision...
      • Samsung Galaxy S II

Deciding to buy a new phone before university. Its GPS helped prevent us get lost on the way to university. Its video helped us record all those pleasant memories that I experienced while in the first term of university. The voice recorder helped me record lectures for people, and the chess app helped me cure boredom like nobody. The calculator helped me to meticulously look after my budget, and the calendar inspired me to actually buy my own calendar at the new year to schedule things better. And, most of all, the contract allowed me to keep my social life in check.

    • Three aspirations for 2012
      • To-do list book.

The first goal would be undoubtedly to survive until the end of the year. People die everyday, and I've entered 2012 fearing for the worst here. If I survive without suffering any major injuries, I'd be happy. Of course, I'd like my friends and family to be safe too- if anything happens to them not only would I hope they recover as soon as possible, but I'd also make it my goal to recover from any trauma. Because that's real-life character development!

My second goal is to finish the first proper draft of this novel I've been writing for over three years. I've planned absolutely loads of it, but I haven't written it all down. I have lost inspiration for it quite a few times, but recently it's began to come back, so I guess this goal is pretty realistic. I just have to avoid procrastinating crazily over the year, I guess.

The last thing I'd like to accomplish is winning some sort of competition. I won a Mario Kart tournament last year, and I felt pretty happy for a long while afterwards. I'd love to achieve that again, it'd be a wonderful feeling.
