        I used to tape hours of prime time and send the tapes to my parents when they were stationed in Germany- they missed the American commercials and tv shows (this was before you could get dish tv anywhere)

      • The most bizarre gift I ever received was a pair of Tigger boxer shorts. This was way back in high school. I mentioned in passing to a friend (who was a guy and happened to have a crush on me) that I liked Tigger. So for valentine's day he got me shorts that were basically boxers. I don't recall what I did with that gift, but I know I didn't wear them. Probably gave them to my younger brother.

    • How I'd spend $1,000

      • Assuming that my in pocket amount was $1K (otherwise after taxes it would be somewhere around $450)...I would buy a few books and some clothes, then would treat myself and my husband to a nice dinner. Given where I live (NYC)- that's about as far as $1K would go.
