    • A Risk Worth Taking
      • A 2 in one risk that proved to be worthwhile...

        Carnival 2009

        Oo wee...i guess am such a risk taker...informed risks i guess;
        or maybe i should call it taking chances.
        To cut a long story short, i took a risk of dating a guy over the internet, his nationality is synonimous with scammers etc. yet i took a 'risk' and trusted my instincts, decided to take a chance and fell in love with a gentleman...this went as far as me feeling even more encouraged about applying for a study abroad programme; this love affair was probably one of the best i've had.
        A sincere, humble, loving, respectful, laid-back type of guy...my time in England was ten times worthwhile because i took the risk of meeting a guy over the net, and doing what i wanted...my friends thought i was insane for internet dating....hahaha lol
        The story doesn't end with wedding bells...just that i took a big chance on a guy, and it was all worthwhile, i would relive the experience in a heartbeat! That risk i took 4 years ago made me realise a lot about myself; i am fearless, a risk-taker, and that i don't succumb to the boundaries and 'norms' that have been placed by society...i do things my way, i run with my spirit...and it is something that makes me the special person that i am!
        Cheers to Risk Takers!!! <3

    • Top Albums I Listened to While Growing Up
      • Spice Girls

        Hahahah lol...that is quite funny...whilst growing up huh?
        That would be referring to my highschool days...
        It would have to be the Mariah Carey 'Rainbow' album, Spice Girl's 'Spice' Album'...the rest were just singles...
        When i look back at those days, i can also include the 'Tupac greatest hits', Celine Dion 'Instrumental Mix', Tkzee's 'Dlala Mapantsula' album...
        To be honest, was always a singles type of person; and i still mis def listen to those tracks...only the favorite ones of course...they bring about a nostalgic feeling...
        my ear has obviously since developed and my taste is much wider...music is a total passion, not just any...but real good music!

        Some may tell you Red is the colour of danger...well, Red is the colour of Lover, Amor...all those romantic things....Red Roses, Red Lingerie, Red Lip Stick, Red nail polish...mmmh....so sensual....*sigh*
        I like it in all Its shades...one ought to keep in mind that colours have a pertinent influence on our moods...yes, i totally believe colours have have a mood altering effect on us...depending on how well you combine them; then you have a magic recipe for how you can determine you mood and how you feel.

    • How I Got My Name
      • Always giving out my true image...

        Well, being my dad's first born...there was great hype in the family.
        My dad would have it no other way but to name me after his mother;
        My name is veronica, and i am named after my gran mother.

        Honestly, i totally love my name...i am also one of those who believe that a given name has a way influencing the character of a person. So be careful of the names you give to your kids...and who you name them after...
        i googled my name once, like i google most people and things... and this is what i got '...the spelling influenced by the ecclesiastical Latin phrase vera icon meaning "true image". This was the name of a legendary saint who wiped Jesus's face with a towel and then found his image imprinted upon it.'
        I'm catholic so i can mos def relate to the latin aspect of it all...but what i'm more interested in is the 'true image' meaning of it all...yes, often times i've come to realise that i am misunderstood by most people (but that is a topic for another day.)
        I truelly believe i exude my true image when people meet me; nothing to hide, maybe sometimes to blunt and upfront...but hey, who is to blame for that...its in my name, Veronica = True Image.

    • Family, and Friends...and all inbetween
      • 1. I am thankful for my Family...as big as it...i have enough love for each and everyone of them...Mom, Dad, Brothers, and Sisters...yes, nephews, neices, cousins, uncles and aunts....not forgetting my Gran ma, and everyone else i've known long enough to be counted as Family!

        2. I am thankful for all the opportunities/experiences...i am certainly the person i am today because of them. My parents and God are responsible for that...and my special friends too.

        3. I am thankful for my relationship with God, this has grown over the year; there is no turning back, not sure what i was preoccupied with in the past that may have distracted me. I love my new found spirituality, and i am thankful for that.

        4. I am thankful for my body and appetite...a shallow one indeed, but give thanx where it's due right? ahahaha....I seem to be able to consume anything i like, and i just can't gain any major weight. My appetite just compliments this positive condition...Yes, i am most definately thankful for my beautiful body and the appetite that comes with it.

        5. I am thankful for my friends and the people that are there to make a positie difference in my life. I keep my circle small...but the love i share with them is as big as this globe we live on. Ladies and Gents....i love you and i don't take our friendship for granted. I am thankful....
